Assemblage

I finished this piece at the weekend but haven't posted pics until now as it was a present and I didn't want the recipient to accidentally see it if she visited my blog! :oD It's a house warming gift and is made from a piece of rusty pipe I found on the beach on holiday, a vintage brooch, copper wire, fibre, rusty bottle cap and some veneer. I absolutely loved doing this, I adore rusty metal and I was really pleased with the end results. ;o) I'd really like to explore assemblage much more. Not a brilliant picture, I've had to lighten it a bit and it doesn't show the depth of the pipe, it's much better in real life, honest! LOL

Cool! I LOVE this - don't you just love the whole ethos of turning found objects into something new again?

This is wwwaaaaaayyyyyy cool ! I have a little pile of rusty "stuff" here on my desk. I generally take a walk over my lunch hour and often I come back with some "treasure" I've found. My co-workers just shake their heads is disbelief. So back to YOU ! Have you done much of this? You should sell them ! Maybe you already do !!!! Wow, this Creative Journey group is such a breath of fresh air.

Thanks, Paula! :oD A girl after my own heart, collecting rusty metal in your lunchbreak! LOL I always have my eyes on the gutter!! It's amazing what you can find for arty purposes! So, ignore your uninpsired workmates and keep at it!! I would love to do more assemblage and I already have an Etsy shop ready and waiting so hopefully some day soon...
